Online Poker Tournament For Charity This July

William Hill Poker, one of the world’s most well regarded and popular online poker rooms, has generously decided to host an online poker tournament in the name of charity. This time, the cause which will be given the collected funds will be the No Surrender Charitable Trust, designed to aid people suffering from cancer of the pancreas.

The No Surrender Charitable Trust was founded by Jason Boas, a man who himself was diagnosed with the disease after reaching 33 years of age. A trustee at the organization, Marc Maley, has told reporters that the main goal of No Surrender Charitable Trust is to find fun and exciting ways of raising money for this more than worthy cause. As such, he believes that an online Poker tournament via the William Hill network fits in perfectly with that. He explained that prior to being diagnosed with cancer of the pancreas, Boas was a very competitive person, and creating “synergy” between great games like Poker and the city such as this charity poker tournament would have been something he’d surely love.

Maley also stated that being able to break the current record for an online poker tournament would be another great success of the event. To do this, more than 35,000 players would have to compete for over 9 hours, and 8,750 of them would have to win. Yet being realistic, Maley admitted that even a tenth of this would be more than satisfactory for the organization.

To take part in this worthy event kicking off on June 26th, players will have to buy $30 entry tickets, with rebuys of $20 also available. The total prize pool is expected to reach $30,000, and will be paired with a 2 person getaway to Vegas worth $10,000, including 4 nights at the Bellagio Hotel!
